Roadside Assistance provides coverage which includes the specific services as detailed below:

General Cover
Once a call is received, either from Your home or on the road, a mobile service is immediately dispatched to the scene to rectify, on the spot, the following difficulties:
• FLAT BATTERY - Jump start motor vehicle.

• FLAT TIRE - Replace flat with spare.

• OUT OF FUEL - Supply minimum of 2 gallons fuel.
to be paid for by driver. LPG/Diesel vehicles transport to fuel supply.

• LOCK OUTS - Access Motor Vehicle/Replace key/ new key made (up to $60.00 per case). (Specialist locksmith attendance may involve extra charge to driver).

• TOWING - BREAKDOWN - If Your Motor Vehicle is unable to be quickly mechanically repaired or safely driven, the Motor Vehicle, including the driver, will be transported to a nominated service center or mechanical repair facility. If after hours, arrangements can be made to store the Motor Vehicle and transport when the service center or repair facility is open. A 10 miles wide metropolitan or 30 miles wide rural “Free of Charge” service for roadside response and breakdown towing applies. Excess miles charged at the recommended industry rates.

• GENERAL ASSISTANCE - We will relay urgent messages to family, friends and business associates, likely to be concerned by disruption or delay. We will also arrange for alternative transport in the case of a major breakdown or accident ie. taxi (cost at drivers expense).

• EXCLUSIONS*
• Trucks, heavy equipment and vehicles over 3.5 tonnes gross;
• Vehicles that require specialist or heavy equipment for
removal or are not within easy reach of a public road;
• Vehicles used for hire or reward;
• Vehicles operated by non-US residents;
• Unregistered Motor Vehicles

Roadside Assistance is like a very good friend that you hardly ever contact but when you need him in a crisis, he is always there for you. Roadside assistance often forms part of a bigger Emergency Assistance program. These have become very popular and are even offered by cellular phone companies and clothing stores. They may be advertised as a free benefit but you probably pay for it in one way or another.
Emergency assistance can include, other than roadside assistance, medical and trauma assistance, home assistance in the form of emergencies with plumbing, electricity or locksmiths or even legal advice. Car insurance policies can also include emergency assistance programs and it is always included when you take out comprehensive insurance cover.
